The President of Kosovo, Hashim Thaci, said during a speech in front of the presidency that shedding light on the tragic past and bringing perpetrators in front of the justice enhances peace in Kosovo and the region.
He added that Kosovo institutions will give their maximum to shed light on this human aspect.
“Families of the missing persons deserve to know the truth,” Thaci said and added that the matter of the missing persons should be also discussed in Brussels. “I express my commitment as the president of the country that this issue will be addressed,” Thaci said.
He also requested from Belgrade to offer information on where are the 1650 persons missing since the war. “Today, we also expect from internationals to exercise pressure on Serbia in order for them to start giving information for the citizens missing since the war,” Thaci said.
