Kosovo President, Hashim Thaci, has reacted against a decision by Serbian authorities to stop the Kosovo Karate Team from attending the European Karate Championship in Novi Sad, Serbia. Thaci said the decision was unacceptable and that it goes against the sporting spirit. “The decision by Belgrade authorities to prevent the Kosovo karate team from attending the European Karate Championship in Novi Sad is unacceptable, goes against the sporting spirit and the basic rules of the International Karate Federation. With such actions, Serbia is trying to politicize sports. Sports should serve to unite people and not create divisions,” Thaci wrote in a Facebook post.
