Avdullah Hoti, caucus of the Democratic League of Kosovo (LDK), said during today’s press conference that to his political party, it is not important who is going to lead the dialogue process with Serbia but the issues that will be discussed and the format of the discussions. “This is not a matter of giving mandate to anyone, what senior LDK officials said is  that we will not escape state responsibilities. Before Monday, we will extensively discuss the matter and decide on the position. The issue of who should be leading the discussions is not the most important one, we have to announce on format and issues,” Hoti said.

He assessed that Hashim Thaci, is not the ideal man to lead the dialogue however, he added LDK will play a constructive role on this matter.

Hoti further presented some statistics, which according to him show the low trust of Kosovo people on the government and the President.

“According to the opinion poll, the trust on the instructions has never been lower. 62 percent believe that the country is heading in the wrong direction. 70 percent assessed that government’s performance is low, 24 percent trust the government. The two main problems are unemployment and corruption,” Hoti said. He further criticized the government about nomination of coordinators, saying that it is an abuse with public funds.
