Leader of Peoples’ Party, Vuk Jeremic said that solution for Kosovo must be looked for only in accordance with the Constitution of Serbia and UN SC Resolution 1244, BETA news agency reported.
Jeremic added other solutions such as division of territory are completely irresponsible.
Asked if “a frozen conflict” would be a solution according to him and if it would be an alternative to the agreement, Jeremic responded that “there is no frozen conflict at all” as the regime wishes to present it in order to frighten the population.
“It is not true that membership of Kosovo to the UN is necessary in order to normalize the life, both in the territory of the province, and in the region,” adding he sees no reason why an alternative to the Kosovo membership in the UN would have to be a conflict.
Jeremic added, prior to the final status, there should be negotiations on many other topics of importance for Serbia such as state and private properties, and guarantees for the protection of the Serbian cultural heritage.
