A returnee Komatovic family with two underage children was the target of an armed attack in the village of Zac, in Istok municipality, RTK 2 reported.

Village representative, Nebojsa Drljevic told the media since their return to the village in 2010, returnees are being constantly targets of attacks.

“We are not scared, however it is concerning, because this is not happening for the first time. It happened few times already, not only against Komatovic family, it also happened when we came back and stayed in a camp, waiting for the houses to be reconstructed. They shot at us twice. I do not know how many times they tried to rob us (…). Nothing surprises us any longer, it became almost normal to us,” Drljevic said.

He added, the police was informed about every incident, and the inhabitants have no intention to move out of the village.

Serbian Government Office for Kosovo and Metohija Director, Marko Djuric condemned the latest incident, saying it is an anti-civilizational act and a consequence of the impunity of repeated armed attacks against Serbs in Kosovo.

Around 800 Serbs used to live in this village prior to 1999. Now there are only 40 of them, including 18 children. According to the returnees, Serbs in this village own around 200 hectares of forest and 400 hectares of land, Radio Kontakt plus reported.
