Avdullah Hoti, head of the Democratic League of Kosovo (LDK) parliamentary group, said today that disagreements among political parties have become worse due to “controversial and disorientating” proposals by Kosovo President Hashim Thaci. Hoti writes in a Facebook post: “Before we normalize relations with Serbia, which is our objective and commitment coordinated with the international community too, we first need to have normal democratic institutions of a solid and functioning majority in the Assembly. Without overcoming this situation, which is causing flaws in policymaking, we will only dwell deeper in an abnormal legal and political situation. Disagreements among political parties have become worse recently especially following the controversial and disorientating proposals by President Thaci. These disagreements cannot be overcome with lack of correctness in approach and communication. The political agreement must be found within the institutions but only after they get democratic legitimacy and the support of the people of Kosovo through free vote”.
