Vetevendosje Movement caucus Glauk Konjufca together with the Kosovo Assembly MP from this political party, Albulena Haxhiu appeared at a press conference to speak about the recent developments at the Prosecution.
Haxhiu said resignation of the former prosecutor Elex Blakaj shows the level the state is caught up.
“Aleksander Lumezi is a cotter of politics, respectively of Thaci, Veseli and Haradinaj. The justice system in Kosovo is in collapse,” Haxhiu said while calling on citizens to engage on seeking Lumezi’s resignation.
“Let us remove these people from power and clean up the justice system,” Haxhiu said. She added that they will participate at today’s protest called by the civil society to seek Lumezi’s dismissal and vetting in the system of justice.
Konjufca on the other hand said Blakaj’s letter shows that there is a terror in Kosovo, that people who are responsible to fight crime and corruption are under the governments influence.
“When opposition speaks, the government claims that these are political games, while when an individual such as Blakaj from the justice system appears, the situation is concerning,” Konjufca said.
According to him, the announcements of the Prime Minister and his discourse sounded “just as threatening as telephone calls that Blakaj has received.”
“We request for these people to be removed from power as soon as possible, in order to liberate the justice system,” Konjufca said.
