The final phase of the dialogue between Kosovo and Serbia is expected to resume in September of this year.
One of the main issues to be discussed between the presidents Hashim Thaci and Aleksandar Vucic is expected to be the border, more concretely unification of Presevo Valley with Kosovo. Therefore, representatives of the Valley seek to be involved in the final phase of the dialogue.
Presevo municipality mayor, Shqiprim Arifi, said if this does not happen in the beginning, it is very much possible that it will happen along the process. “I am still waiting for the Presevo Valley to be included in the dialogue. If not from the start, then it should happen during the mid-term. I think that it is necessary as it creates some kind of a normal standard as Djuric participates in the dialogue from the Serbian side, therefore it is a gentlemen agreement not to have double standards,” Arifi said.
He however added that he has not received anything concrete on the matter and stressed that as Presevo Valley will be discussed then it would have been natural to be represented at Brussels dialogue.
