“Normalization of relations between Kosovo and Serbia is key to stability, security and development not only of these countries, but of the entire region,” United Kingdom’s Foreign Ministry spokesperson reportedly said.
“This government believes that these two countries should recognize each other with current borders,” he said.
Earlier, the German Chancellor Angela Merkel made a statement against change of the border, however, she recently changed her position slightly, explaining that she supports any agreement which leads to stability of relations between Kosovo and Serbia, but that territorial integrity represents a value.
On the other hand, John Bolton, adviser to the U.S. President Donald Trump said the U.S. will not interfere on correction of borders between Kosovo and Serbia. An EU statement notes that Belgrade and Pristina should be given space to reach an agreement on the content of the deal for normalization of the relations.
