Kosovo’s President Hashim Thaci has confirmed the possibility of meeting the U.S. President Donald Trump within the margins of the UN General Assembly.
“We will respect the planned agenda, which includes possibility of meeting with Trump, which will be an excellent opportunity for Kosovo and the region,” Thaci said after the meeting with the leader of FYROM’s Albanian Democratic Party, Menduh Thaci.
He further expressed gratitude for Donald Trump’s administration for the support on the Kosovo-Serbia negotiations, mediated by EU.
“I am very grateful to Trump’s administration for giving us the possibility to discuss the peaceful agreement between Kosovo and Serbia,” Thaci said.
Asked about how does he see absence of Serbia’s President Aleksandar Vucic at the UN Assembly works, Thaci said Kosovo’s agenda never depended or will depend on Serbia.
Speaking about statements on war, Thaci said he is not stopping anyone and added that “war takes place at the trenches not at TV studios.”
