Serbian authorities have not given permission to a Kosovo delegation to take part in a Belgrade conference on economic independence of Roma women. Kosovo’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs expressed “deep regret” over the decision which it said was “absolutely unacceptable” and in violation to the agreement on Kosovo’s representation in regional initiatives and the freedom of movement. The Ministry said it had taken timely steps by informing relevant authorities in Serbia regarding the event and the composition of the Kosovo delegation but that it was informed it cannot attend only hours before the conference was due to start.
