Kosovo’s Ministry for Foreign Affairs issued a press release today saying that Kosovo’s membership to INTERPOL would contribute greatly to increasing neighborly, regional and international cooperation for preventing and combating trans-national crime and will strengthen security and international order. “The Ministry of Foreign Affairs is confident that this process will serve not only the interests of Kosovo and its citizens, but also all INTERPOL member states and their nationals … The only loser from the process will be trans-national crime,” the press release notes. “The Ministry of Foreign Affairs has presented in time its convincing legal and professional arguments to all member states in support of the country’s membership to this organization and it calls on all member states to vote in favor of increasing the efficiency of neighborly, regional and international cooperation and to prevent and combat trans-national crime”.
