Democratic Party of Kosovo (PDK) MP, Elmi Recica, said today that despite recent remarks by NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg on the formation of the Kosovo Army, MPs have not changed their position. “The position of the PDK is clear, we have supported the package in the first reading. The Kosovo government has coordinated with NATO member states. Kosovo doesn’t want to go against the interests of allied countries. You know that Prime Minister Ramush Haradinaj had a meeting with NATO Secretary General and they discussed the issue. The PDK has not changed its position, we will support the further transformation of the KSF [Kosovo Security Force],” Recica told the news website. He also said he was confident that all political parties will support the process. Recica also acknowledged that lately there has been pressure to postpone the voting of the package of laws. “But let me repeat every step and decision has been coordinated with the international community. The Kosovo Armed Forces will be an integral part of NATO,” he added.
