Shpend Ahmeti, co-head of the Kosovo delegation, said after the meeting with EU High Representative Frederica Mogherini in Brussels that Kosovo delegation has made clear Kosovo’s positions, stressing as the primary one, mutual recognition between Kosovo and Serbia. “Mogherini assured us that they are working on that direction. The idea is to have an intensive agenda in the first half of this year, in order to approximate our positions,” Ahmeti said.
“We are coordinating about this with the EU member states. In this respect, there was communication also with Washington and Moscow. The matter of tax was also discussed at the meeting. Serbia’s position for removal of the tax was mentioned once again, but we also spoke about our position on the issue,” he added.
“We made it clear that now Kosovo has a team and not individuals. There is a state team. We said it there as well, the reasons why the tax was implemented must be removed. There are many conditions that Serbia must fulfill in order to suspend the tax. This is not biased. We live under such conditions with Serbia. There are hundreds of agreements that Serbia has not respected. Let us not even mention the current wild campaign against Kosovo. The issue of tax with the reach of a comprehensive agreement, there will be no need for tax,” said Fatmir Limaj also co-head of Kosovo delegation.
