Kosovo’s Justice Minister Abelard Tahiri has strongly condemned a statement by a ministry official made against members of the LGBT community. In a response to a play about a gay couple staged by the Pristina-based Qendra Multimedia, the ministry official remarked on social networks that the heads of LBGT members should be “chopped off”. Tahiri said the official’s statement does not represent the view of the institution he represents and that the language he used was “scandalous” and “unacceptable”. Gazeta Express meanwhile reported that the official in question was arrested by the Kosovo Police.
