The presence of the AH1N1 influenza virus was confirmed in the area of competence of the Public Health Institute Kosovska Mitrovica (in charge for north of Kosovo and the Serb enclaves south of Ibar), but the number of patients with flu-like illness compared to last week is not increasing.
The head of the Center for Prevention and Control of the Diseases at the Public Health Institute in Kosovska Mitrovica, epidemiologist Zoran Vukadinovic, says that the largest number of sick people belongs to the group of age 30 to 60. He adds that the extension of the winter holiday for pupils certainly affects the reduction of virus’ spread and appeals to citizens not to use medicines without consulting doctors.
