Kosovo’s Minister of European Integration, Dhurata Hoxha, took part in a ministerial conference on European affairs in Vienna, hosted by Austrian Minister Gernot Blumel. According to a press release issued by Kosovo’s Ministry of European Integration, Hoxha spoke in her remarks about the importance of political and economic cooperation between the EU and the region. “Republic of Kosovo should receive imeediate support from the EU to make further progress on our long-term negotiations with Serbia, for a more peaceful, prosperous and democratic Balkans,” she is quoted as saying. Hoxha pointed out that the citizens of Kosovo are overwhelmingly pro-European and yet are still unable to travel to Europe without visas. She said the EU should focus its foreign policy on the enlargement process. “There is a need to adopt new ways to tackle political and security problems in the Western Balkans through a proactive, quick and decisive approach,” Hoxha noted.
