Kosovo preparing for sanctions against Russia (KosovaPress)

Kosovo is expected to place sanctions against Russia very soon, following in this manner the steps of the European Union. The Ministry of the Foreign Affairs has already coordinated and analyzed the possibility for sanctions to Russia.

International relations professors also stressed that even though with limited capacities, Kosovo should follow the policies of the European Union and place sanctions on Russia.

Furthermore, it would be fatal for Kosovo to act differently and not follow the policies of the EU and U.S.

Bashmir Xhemaj, adviser of the Minister of Foreign Affairs, also confirmed the possibility of sanctions to KosovaPress.

Among the EU measures towards Russia is ban of the free movement of people, respectively key Russian authorities, blocking loans from European banks to the Russian companies and eventual prohibition of import of their goods by the countries that consider the EU as their partner.

Despite the fact of being a candidate for EU membership, Serbia has not expressed readiness to apply sanctions against Russia.
