Myrli positively surprised with Kosovo's achievements (kohaonline)

The outgoing Prime Minister of Kosovo, Hashim Thaçi, met on Wednesday with a delegation of NATO Parliamentary Assembly, headed by the President of this Assembly, Hugh Bayley.

According to a press release issued by the Office of the Prime Minister, Thaçi assured Bayley and the other members of NATO PA that Kosovo will continue its Euro-Atlantic path, and it will also continue to work on development of democracy in Kosovo as well as on building a multiethnic society. “Of course our intention, aim and vision is integration in NATO and the European Union, however good neighboring relations is a pre-condition,” said Thaçi.

“We have built excellent relations with all neighbors, and we are in a process of proving these neighboring relations also with Serbia. We are optimistic that we can make progress in this direction. There is no turning back.”

Thaçi responded to the questions of NATO PA representatives on foreign policy, regional cooperation and security policy of Kosovo.

Chairman of the sub-commission for Trans-Atlantic Defense and Cooperation on Security and representative of Norway at NATO Parliamentary Assembly, Sverre Myrli, stressed during the meeting with Thaçi that “the international community should treat the Republic of Kosovo as an independent and sovereign state.”

“I am positively surprised with Kosovo’s achievements 15 years after the war,” said Myrli.
