Eliot Engel, U.S. Congressman and Co-Head of the Commission for Foreign Affairs at the U.S. Congress, met today during his visit to Kosovo with the Deputy Minister for Foreign Affairs Petrit Selimi and with the religious clerics of Kosovo. Deputy Foreign Minister Selimi together with the religious leaders and Initiative for Inter-religious Dialogue team, informed Congressman Engel on the success of the project of Kosovo’s public diplomacy on inter-faith dialogue.

Congressman Engel supported Selimi’s and the team’s work saying that they have his personal support at the U.S. Congress, and expressed appreciation for the initiative to set the Holocaust memorial stone at the garden of the government of Kosovo. He added that Kosovo could show to the world that there is no need to fear the Muslim majority, and it could give lessons on how the majority is respectful and promoter of tolerance and protection of the minority. Engel also promised continuous support for the projects of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, including lobbying in Israel, Caribbean and South America.
