Zbogar: Dialogue with Serbia has no alternative, but it should be transparent (Indeksonline)
Head of the European Union Office in Kosovo, Samuel Zbogar, said today that the dialogue between Pristina and Belgrade does not have an alternative; however, he requested from the institutions of Kosovo more transparency of the process. Zbogar made these comments during the promotion of the “Big Deal”report by BIRN, Internews Kosova and Advocacy Center for Democratic Culture (ACDC) organizations, which concerns the dialogue process. “We have also lost the opposition, and the situation is such. Lack of transparency also contributed to the situation that we are facing today,” Zbogar said at the conference.
He said that he saw that PM Isa Mustafa is interested to involve the Assembly in the discussions for the dialogue. According to him, dialogue between Pristina and Belgrade “is not being held to please EU” as mediator of this process. He stressed that this dialogue aims normalization of the relations between the two parties. “Normalization has to be treated now, and not to be left to the future generations,” Zbogar said. He concluded that recommendations of the published report “will be very beneficial with regards to the reflection on the future of the dialogue.”
