Opposition representatives call for early parliamentary elections (Kosovapress)

Opposition representatives told the news agency today that although early parliamentary elections were not their initial objective, elections are now seen as the only solution to the political crisis. Muharrem Nitaj, spokesman for the Alliance for the Future of Kosovo (AAK), said the opposition expected the government would reflect on the “two anti-constitutional” agreements, referring to the border demarcation agreement with Montenegro and the agreement on the Association/Community of Serb-majority municipalities. “Instead they tried to silence the matter as if nothing ever happened,” Nitaj said. He did not rule out the possibility of opposition parties running under a single list in the event of early elections. Vetevendosje deputy leader, Driton Caushi, too said that early elections are inevitable and that the top priority of the opposition is to bring down the “anti-constitutional government that threatens the future of the Republic”. Petrit Zogaj, from the non-governmental organization Fol [Speak Up], told the news agency that almost all efforts to emerge from the crisis have been exhausted and that the country should go to early elections.
