Kosovo Assembly to hold extraordinary session for Astrit Dehari on Tuesday (media)
The presidency of the Kosovo Assembly decided today that an extraordinary assembly session will be held on Tuesday for Vetevendosje activist Astrit Dehari who was found dead in his cell at Prizren Detention Centre. Kosovo Assembly Vice President and Vetevendosje MP, Aida Derguti, said the decision goes against the regulation of the Assembly. “This is against the Assembly’s regulation. They are saying that they are translating documents. This goes against the regulation and it is hypocrisy to initiate an extraordinary session with signatures of PDK and LDK MPs two months later … After receiving the petition signed by the citizens, who clearly demand the resignation of the minister, they [ruling parties] are now caught in panic and are giving their signatures to hold discussions,” Derguti said. AAK parliamentary group chief, Pal Lekaj, is quoted as saying in Kosovapress that the AAK has yet to decide if it will attend the extraordinary session on Tuesday.
