Kosovo Assembly to hold extraordinary session for Astrit Dehari on Tuesday (media)

The presidency of the Kosovo Assembly decided today that an extraordinary assembly session will be held on Tuesday for Vetevendosje activist Astrit Dehari who was found dead in his cell at Prizren Detention Centre. Kosovo Assembly Vice President and Vetevendosje MP, Aida Derguti, said the decision goes against the regulation of the Assembly. “This is against the Assembly’s regulation. They are saying that they are translating documents.

Vetevendosje MP Aida Derguti told a press conference in Pristina today that everyone is witnessing violations by police officers in the Kosovo Assembly and especially the attack on Vetevendosje MP Albulena Haxhiu. “Violence against members of parliament constitutes an unprecedented violation of competencies. The presence of police officers and the expulsion of MPs are illegitimate and no measure was taken against such actions. Neither the Speaker of Parliament nor the presidency is authorized to order such actions against the MPs,” Derguti said.

Derguti: We will send the President to the Constitutional Court (Zeri)

Aida Derguti, from Vetevendosje movement has just left the meeting of the Assembly Presidency, and told media that the next Assembly session will be held on Thursday. She said that she tried to object this decision, however she was incapable to change anything. “The session will be held on Thursday, we will obstruct holding of this session as well. In the meantime, we will send the case of manner of the election of the President of Kosovo at the Constitutional Court. This is the position of the united opposition,” Derguti said.

Derguti: We will oppose Friday’s session (Koha)

Deputy President of the Assembly of Kosovo from Vetevendosje movement, Aida Derguti, participated today at the meeting of the Assembly Presidency, which decided to hold the regular session of the Assembly on Friday. Referring to the Agreement on Association/Community of Serb-majority Municipalities, Derguti said that the government is insisting to bring back into life a dead agreement.

Kosovo Assembly Vice President and Vetevendosje Movement MP, Aida Derguti, writes in an opinion piece that Kosovo Foreign Minister Hashim Thaci is trying to blame everyone but himself on Kosovo’s failure to join UNESCO.“It is funny that when Kosovo failed to join UNESCO, Thaci said that Serbia is racist and fascist, but yet, he continues to defend the agreements reached in Brussels,” Derguti writes.  “The key topic to be addressed in this case is the relationship of Kosovo and Serbia.
