Haradinaj condemns Serbia’s “interference” in Kosovo elections (Koha)

Prime Minister of Kosovo, Ramush Haradinaj, has strongly condemned Serbia’s “interference” in Kosovo local election set to take place this Sunday. In a Facebook post, Haradinaj wrote that such actions are in conflict to the principle of good neighbourly relations and “significantly undermine” the process for normalization of relations between Kosovo and Serbia. “Good integration of Kosovo Serbs is a mutual interest and any attempt to damage this goal shall be considered as breach of their political will. Kosovo Serbs have the right to choose, and electing their representatives without interference will be respected by the authorities of the Republic of Kosovo,” Haradinaj wrote. Haradinaj’s reaction follows calls from Serbian government officials to Kosovo Serbs to vote for the Serbian List claiming it is the only party that protects their interests.
