The hopeless Republic (Kosova Sot)
The front page editorial of this daily stresses that according to the most recent study of the Group for Judicial and Political Studies the level of the Kosovo people willing to emigrate remains high, even after the massive emigrations of the last months. This paper further criticizes the current government for “not managing to return hope to the disappointed people and for deepening their grief with the corrupted system.”
The current government appears incapable to apply reforms and fulfill the main demands for employment, visa liberalization, wellbeing, justice, notes this daily, adding that even during yesterday’s meeting of the Council for European Integration, institutional leaders only tried to justify their failures. “Brussels has made it clear that there is no visa liberalization if organized crime and corruption are not fought. According to this logic, Kosovo will remain isolated for several years. No one expects for the corrupted to be punished in the current collapsed system of justice, where investigations are manipulated, affairs disappear in drawers of the prosecutors and judicial processes are bought. Politicians are getting rich right in front of the internationals, who as it appears, are more interested to remain silent, or to eventually take a peace from their wealth than to act against this major evil,” writes this daily.
The situation in Kosovo is darker than ever. Therefore leaving the country, even though the most difficult option, continues to be the rescuing alternative for hundreds and thousands of Kosovars.
