Brussels loses patience with Pristina (Danas)

All twenty-eight EU member-states conveyed a message to Pristina authorities there would be no continuation of the Brussels dialogue until Pristina revokes its decision on 100 percent tariffs on goods from Serbia and Bosnia and Herzegovina, Danas daily reports referring to diplomatic sources. The sources also confirmed to Danas, this was made clear to the representatives of recently appointed Pristina’s team for Brussels dialogue, two days ago during their visit to Brussels. “Brussels is losing patience when it comes to the tariffs and is doing its utmost to influence Pristina to revoke such destructive measures. In this context, Pristina was clearly told there would be no continuation of the negotiations, until tariffs are revoked,” diplomatic sources told Danas. They also added Kosovo Prime Minister Ramush Haradinaj is “aware that if he wants to remain in power he must act in line with the US and EU advices and revoke the tariffs”. Sources further noted the US and EU do not give up on the stance that Belgrade and Pristina should reach an agreement on Kosovo, if possible, by spring, or May this year. Asked if this is “a realistic scenario”, they responded USA President Trump would not send letters to the Serbian and Kosovo presidents encouraging them to make an agreement, if the US does not believe an agreement is within a reach.”
