Rakic: Trepca statute will remain “dead letter on paper” (Radio kontakt plus)
The statute on the mining complex Trepca, that was adopted by the Kosovo Assembly on Saturday, will remain “a dead letter on paper”, with jurisdiction up to the Ibar River, Chairperson of Srpska Lista, Goran Rakic said, Radio kontakt plus reports.
"As much as the Albanian leaders are trying to endanger the survival of the Serbian people by politics of a final act, and after introduction of tariffs, they also adopted decisions by which they want to take away Trepca from the Serbian people, however Serbs and Serbia will not allow this", Rakic said in a statement.
Rakic reminded that the decades of the generation of Serbs, both from Kosovo, and from central Serbia, plucked out huge money to build Trepca, and if someone thinks that we will give it as gift, or that it will be taken away, is wrong.
"This statute, written by a mono-ethnic committee, in which there were no Serbs, trying to kidnap Trepca, which is the heart of the survival of our people, will remain a dead letter on paper with jurisdiction up to the Ibar River", announcement said.
Rakic called on the international community, which promotes the protection of property rights, to clearly tell its protégés that the capture of Trepca is not a step that will encounter the understanding of Serbs and Serbia.
