Serbia will not take any measures that would affect the Belgrade-Pristina dialogue, but the agreement is doubtful if Serbia is expected to recognize Kosovo, Serbian Foreign Minister, Ivica Dacic, said.

“We won’t take any measures that would affect the dialogue, but if someone expects us to recognise Kosovo’s independence and not for Pristina to have enough political wisdom and to strive for a compromise than the agreement is quite unlikely,” Dacic said speaking at the fourth Delphi Economic Forum, in Greece.

The Head of Serbian Diplomacy added that Serbia supports compromise and that he was the one who signed the 2013 Brussels Agreement.

“Back then we defined the formation of the Association of Serb Municipalities. Six years on, this hasn’t happened yet. After that, Kosovo decided to form its military, in spite of UN Resolution 1244 saying the only armed forces in Kosovo are the KFOR forces,” Dacic recalled.

“In the end, they introduced 100 percent tariffs to all products from Serbia and Bosnia and Herzegovina – just because Serbia doesn’t recognize Kosovo’s independence.”

He argued that Serbia is ready for Compromise, but the Albanian side thinks that compromise is when Serbia recognizes their one-sided act.

Dacic also pointed to EU’s double standards when it comes to one-sided moves regarding Kosovo and Catalonia.
