Dragan Djukanovic: Kosovo issue, disagreement between Germany and US (RTS)
If there would be a unified stance of the international stakeholders, Pristina would by now revoke 100 percent tariffs it imposed on goods from central Serbia and Bosnia and Herzegovina, Center for Foreign Policy Director, Dragan Djukanovic told RTS.
He also thinks there is a higher probability that due to the Kosovo issue extraordinary parliamentary elections in Serbia would take place in May next year, rather than in June this year.
“It is expected that the dialogue process would intensify in the next month or two, and it would certainly impact on calling for the elections. However, it is more realistic for that to happen next year, and it would also depend upon when would Kosovo revoke the tariffs on goods from Serbia and Bosnia and Herzegovina,” Djukanovic said
According to him, Berlin and Paris have an initiative to resolve the Kosovo issue, however, there is a disagreement in the stances of Germany and US. He also expects concretization of the initiative.
“Pristina is acting this way, because it receives different messages from different stakeholders. If there would be a unified and agreed stance to revoke the tariffs, it would be done by now,” Djukanovic stressed. He also noted the Kosovo issue is slowly being transferred from the EU to Washington and Moscow.
