Vucic: Berlin meeting has nothing to do with any kind of solution for Kosovo (B92, Tanjug, RTS, N1, Gazeta Express)

Aleksandar Vucic has said that it is time for the Serbs to unite over all important issues and to understand that only together we can fight for our interests.

The president emphasized that this particularly refers to our interests in Kosovo and Metohija, as well as throughout the region.
"I think it is important that we (respond) to all their calls for conflicts as soon as on Friday, during one of the biggest political gatherings in Serbia in the past 50 years, by calling on people to be united and unify," Vucic said in an interview for Wednesday's edition of the Alo daily.

"After the nonsense and a genuine debacle of the (opposition) gathering (last Saturday), organized by Djilas, Obradovic and Jeremic, who threatened with a violent takeover of power, it is important that to all their calls for conflict we invite people, not political parties, to unity and unification on Friday."

He said that unity is of crucial importance, and that people in Serbia will understand that very well.

"This means that we need to unite over all the important issues and Serbia's economic progress, and try to understand that we can only fight for our interests together, especially in Kosovo and Metohija and throughout the region, and that we understand well that messages of conflict and divisions among the Serbs are bad for all those who want to invest in our country," the president said.

N1 broadcaster reported, quoting the interview from Alo daily, that Vucic said there was no solution in sight for Kosovo.

According to Vucic, the coming talks between Serbian and Kosovo Albanian officials in Berlin “have nothing to do with any kind of solution for Kosovo”, he said, adding that they will discuss the 100 percent tariffs imposed by Pristina on Serbian goods and continuing the Belgrade-Pristina dialogue.

“We are expecting difficult talks with Albanian representative and it won’t be easy with (German Chancellor Angela) Merkel and (French President Emmanuel) Macron but that has nothing to do with any kind of solution for Kosovo. There is no solution in sight. That is one of the lies that I would not even talk about,” he said.

Vucic announced that the Serbian parliament will discuss Kosovo soon.

The meeting in Berlin on April 29th, is being organized at the initiative of Merkel and Macron.

N1 reported, quoting Pristina based gazetaexpress, that a framework document will be presented to the Belgrade and Pristina delegation in Berlin to serve as the basis of an agreement, and added that the document will not include divisions but could offer Serbia sovereignty over some parts of Kosovo.
