Death of Kosovo Serb opposition leader Oliver Ivanovic still unsolved (N1, KoSSev, Kontakt plus radio, KIM radio)
The perpetrators and those who ordered the murder of Kosovo Serb opposition leader Oliver Ivanovic have not been found 17 months after Ivanovic’s death.
Names of seven persons suspected of being involved in the case have been unveiled so far and among them are Kosovo police officers as well as the Serb List Vice President. Two suspects have been detained since last November while one person has been released. The Serbian List official dodged the arrest and the investigation has been expanded to two more persons, according to Kosovo media portal KoSSev.
“Although President of Serbia Aleksandar Vucic promised during a rally in Kosovska Mitrovica in September last year that the street named after Oliver Ivanovic will be the most beautiful in the town, that never happened. It is still the worst street in the town,” said Serb List Vice President Ksenija Bozovic, speaking for RTV KiM.
The investigation into Ivanovic’s murder is carried out by the Kosovo prosecution but Belgrade authorities are conducting another separate investigation too.
Oliver Ivanovic was shot on January 16, 2018, in front of his party’s offices in north Mitrovica and was buried at Belgrade’s New Cemetery.
