President Vucic met NATO General Wolters (B92, RTS)
Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic met today with the Commander of U.S. European Command and NATO’s Supreme Allied Commander Europe General Tod Wolters, B92 reports.
President Vucic said during the meeting he is satisfied with good cooperation with NATO, which is developing along with the respect of Serbia’s military neutrality. He pointed out that international peacekeeping forces in Kosovo and Metohija under NATO are guarantor of the security of Serbian people there, due to which he asked that the Chief of Staff of Serbian Armed Forces can at any moment contact the KFOR Commander. At the same time, he accepted that the top officers of Serbian Army are available for the communication with KFOR.
“Good communication between the Serbian Armed Forces and KFOR is important to prevent any crisis situation in Kosovo and Metohija, without hesitation. It represents a guarantor of the security of the Serbian people in KiM,” President Vucic noted.
B92 further said that General Wolters accepted that at any moment, without delay, there is a possibility of mutual communication, because it is important for the maintenance of stability in the region as one of the pillars of global stability. He confirmed KFOR would continue to fulfill its responsibilities in Kosovo and praised President Vucic for responsible, wise and cold-blooded reactions in crisis situations in Kosovo. General Wolters also supported the efforts which Serbia is investing in preserving stability and expanding co-operation in the region.
