Brnabic reacts to Popovic’s statement on Brussels Agreement (TV N1)

When Minister without portfolio Nenad Popovic said “the Brussels Agreement is dead” and there is “no integration into the EU for Serbia anymore,” he was not expressing the view of the Serbian Government, Prime Minister Ana Brnabic said on Saturday, TV N1 reported. “Every minister in the government is obliged to implement the agreed-upon policy, those not able to do so are free to leave,” Brnabic added. She also said the Minister Popovic is not competent to comment on the Brussels Agreement as EU integration is not among his responsibilities within the Serbian Government. “He can only make such statements as the leader of his party (Serbian Peoples’ Party (SNP)),” she added. “I remind that the first sentence in my expose and the program of the government regarding our foreign policy, which the Parliament adopted when it voted for this government, is that the EU remains our strategic priority and goal,” she stressed. “This is unambiguously the policy of this government and it was never open for discussion. Serbia is very stable on its European path,” Brnabic assessed.
