The EU Office without translation into Serbian language (KIM radio)

The report on citizen’s opinion on European integrations which was presented by the EU Office in Pristina in English and Albanian languages, lacked translation into Serbian language.

Serbian journalists, who were invited to attend the presentation of the research carried out by the European Union and UBO Consulting, in organization of the Program of European Perspectives in Kosovo, are left without translation into Serbian language.

During an informal conversation with the RTV KIM crew, which was supposed to cover the event, spokesperson of the EU Office in Kosovo Stojan Pelko explained that the flaw was made by organizers. He went on to say that initial idea was that report on public opinion is presented only in English language, however due to huge interest it was decided for presentation to be carried out in Albanian language, too. The RTV KIM crew left the presentation after they filed a complaint to event’s organizers.

Besides the lack of simultaneous translation into Serbian language, there was no promotional material in Serbian language, either. The report on data collected during the research was provided only in ten copies in English language.

The EU Office in Pristina informed RTV KIM that the press statement with regards to report which was presented yesterday will be later forwarded to media in Serbian language.
