The Meeting of the Group of Community Affairs (KiM radio)
Group of Community Affairs (GCA) held its last meeting this year. The meeting was chaired by the Director of the Office of Community Affairs, Srdjan Popovic.
As stated in the press release, other than members of the GCA, the meeting was attended by representatives of the embassies of the United States, Great Britain, France, Germany, Switzerland and Croatia, as well as representatives of the Council of Europe, the Office of the EU Special Representative in Kosovo, UNMIK, OSCE and the Community Consultative Council.
European Centre for Minority Issues presented the technical recommendations, developed by the Government Working Group, concerning the resolution of the current lack of recognition of diplomas that were issued by the University of North Mitrovica.
Comments on the recommendations will be sent to the secretariat of the Group of Community Affairs by 9 January 2015, after which it will be submitted to the Prime Minister's Office for review and for taking the next step.
The second item on the agenda was presented by UNMIK, which relates to issues of "irregular migration of Roma, Ashkali and Egyptians to Western Europe", which is of interest for the GCA due to the increased number of departures.
