Serbs should return to Kosovo government (Kontakt Plus Radio)
Representatives of Serbs should return to Kosovo government and its institutions, assessed analysts.
This topic was discussed on B92 news by former minister for Kosovo affairs in the Serbian government Goran Bogdanovic and analyst Dusan Janjic from the Forum for Ethnic Relations.
Bogdanovic said that boycott is not the way to fight for your interests. “At times when I was the minister, in several occasions representatives of Serbs have boycotted Kosovo institutions and we had more damage than benefits,” said Bogdanovic.
Janjic argues that it is about policy of a tactic and about what could be gained before return of Serbian representatives in the Kosovo government.
“Coordination of work with the Serbian List is needed and that is good. With that Belgrade became important and legalized factor in Kosovo,” said Janjic.
Bogdanovic claims that Serbs could return to Kosovo parliament when time for voting over the law on special court on war crimes in Kosovo comes on agenda, whereas Janjic sadi that it is possible that fulfillment of several conditions could be requested before their return.
“It is possible that one more ministry will be requested, that Pristina agrees that issue of Trepca is settled out of Pristina and that issue of Association/ Community of Serb municipalities is settled, along with the establishment of the courts. The key topic is Association/Community of Serb municipalities, and that’s where the problem lays since it has to be created until 1 May, what puts Serbian side into situation to ‘lower the price’,” said Janjic.
