Vucic: European path depends on dialogue with Kosovo Albanians (RTK2)
European future of Serbia depends on how successful we will be in negotiations with Pristina in Brussels, and those are the most difficult talks, said Serbian Prime Minister Aleksandar Vucic.
Vucic said that government is doing everything it can in order to progress on the European path and opening of chapters in negotiations with the EU, but that most important thing with that regard is the dialogue with Kosovo Albanians.
Vucic told to Serbian public broadcaster RTS that if we would accomplish the dialogue in a way that someone wishes we would never be challenged by anyone about media and other issues, but since that is not the case now they are raising other topics, He reiterated that Serbia is on the European way and that this is Serbia’s strategic orientation, but that he can’t accept, for example, that everything at Gazivode (lake) is handed over to Albanians.
“We all know that 24 per cent of Gazivode is on the territory of Serbia proper, we are supposed to give them all the waters, and that Kosovo Serbs are not asked about it. I will not and I am not giving them that,” said Vucic.
When asked whether Serbs should return in Kosovo institutions, Vucic said that it wouldn’t be a problem, if Albanians would honor the coalition agreement conditions. "We want to enter Kosovo institutions because we would have a better view of the game and bigger influence, we want to talk to them, but we can’t enter Kosovo institutions before they fulfill what they promised that they will do,” said Vucic.
