Even after 17 years no truth about abducted miners (TV Most)
The Association of Families of Kidnapped and Missing Persons in Kosovo and Metohija laid wreaths at the monument Istina (Truth) in Kosovska Mitrovica, marking in such way 17 years since the first mass kidnapping of Serbs in Kosovo, when workers of surface mine Belaćavac were kidnapped.
"17 years ago, on June 22 the first mass kidnapping of Serbs in Kosovo and Metohija occurred. So far the bodies of kidnapped miners were not found despite our lasting quest," said Milorad Trifunovic, coordinator of the Association of Families of Kidnapped and Missing Persons in Kosovo and Metohija, for the morning program of TV Most.
Speaking about missing workers of mine Belaćavac, Trifunovic pointed out that initially the missing miners were sought at the location Zilivode. "KFOR team, later UNMIK, and EULEX performed excavations on this location with many pauses, which were explained by various reasons. They informed the families of the victims that bodies of miners were located there, but after four years of excavations, almost at the end of the process, the fire broke out at the site," Trifunovic said, adding that the Association suspected that the bodies were discovered, but that the remains of the bodies were set on fire.
Trifunovic, who was engaged in finding the missing persons from the beginning, said that they addressed everyone, but that the truth is not discovered, because, as he says, the exhumation was performed by the people who have committed crimes - members of the Kosovo Security Forces.
"We submitted to the EULEX team for exhumation and Pristina Commission a list with 17 locations where are buried the bodies of missing and kidnapped. We received some information from Albanians and those accuracies should be confirmed," Trifunovic said.
