Mirovic: We are not delighted about the agreement between Montenegro and Kosovo (RTS)

Vice President of the Serbian Progressive Party Igor Mirovic said that agreement on demarcation between Montenegro and Kosovo, which is set to be signed soon, cannot have serious consequences on relations between Podgorica and Belgrade.

Mirovic said to Podgorica-based Vijesti that Serbia, which considers Kosovo as its territory, is not delighted with the agreement and that it is hard to guess whether there will be any official reactions of the Serbian Government, Beta agency reported.

“We can’t be delighted when certain state, with which we have good relations, is signing any agreements with Kosovo,” said Mirovic and added that Serbian Government is leading policy of preservation of the state interests in a determined and systematic manner, in given circumstances and inherited frames such as Kumanovo Agreement, UNSC Resolution 1244 and Brussels Agreement.

Governments of Montenegro and Kosovo are due to sign the agreement on demarcation in the eve of the Western Balkans Summit in Vienna on 26 August.

Demarcation line is the existing one, set by the Constitution of the former Socialist Federative Republic of Yugoslavia from 1974, and in line with the Martti Ahtisaari’s plan and Kosovo Constitution.
