Attack on the church in Lipljan/Lipjan prevented (KIM radio)

A group of Albanians tried last night to raid the garden of the Holy Florus and Laurus in Lipljan/Lipjan, confirmed the president of the Temporary body of the municipality Zlatko Lazic.

Lazic said that according to testimonies of residents, after the match Armenia - Albania, a group of Albanians that celebrated qualification for the European Championship in football, caused an incident in the part of Lipljan/Lipjan where most Serbs live.

He said that at one point a group of fans tried to enter the yard of the Holy Florus and Laurus in Lipljan/Lipjan, but that the Kosovo police prevented them.

"These attacks show how fragile the situation is and how much now is threatened security of non-Albanians, especially Serbs," said Lazic.

According to him, residents are upset and worried. The police promised that security would be improved, by setting up video surveillance and frequent patrols.
