MPs missed the chance to form an independent channel (KIM Radio)

Giving consent to the ratification of the SAA, Serbian MPs missed another chance to fight for a law that would guarantee the establishment of an independent Serbian channel, said UNS (Association of Journalist of Serbia) and DNKiM (Association of Journalists of Kosovo).

"UNS and DNKiM support the position of Kosovo strategic action network (KSAM), which gathers predominantly Serbian non-governmental organizations. KSAM expressed concern about the failure to implement many laws and rights guaranteed by the Kosovo Constitution that are related to the Serbian community. One of those rights includes the establishment of an independent television channel in Serbian language" was said in a statement sent to the media.

“UNS and DNKiM considered as inappropriate that Serbian MPs in the Kosovo Assembly vote for the legislation proposed by the ruling majority, despite the fact the laws and constitutional obligations of Kosovo related to the Serbian community are not applying, and particularly in the light of intensive Brussels negotiations on the future of the Serbian community in Kosovo.”
