Dacic: An acceptable formulation must be found (Danas)

The negotiating position of the European Union for Chapter 35, which refers to the normalization of relations between Belgrade and Pristina has not been finished and has not arrived in Belgrade, was said today in the Serbian government. Serbian Foreign Minister Ivica Dacic stated that EU members should harmonize their negotiating position. “New formulation which would be acceptable for all must be found,” briefly said Dacic.

As reported, in Brussels is expected that the joint negotiating position will be defined at the beginning of the week and that position will become public only at the intergovernmental conference on 14 December, when is announced the opening of the first Chapters (35 and 32) in the negotiations between Serbia and EU.

As it was explained to us, currently there are two documents in COELA (Committee on EU enlargement of the Council of the EU): report from the screening and common negotiating position of the EU. The second document contains transitional criteria, which are the subject of the discussion of Member States.
