Former mayor of Strpce/Shterpce: Reasons for my arrest are political (KIM radio)
After his release from detention, former mayor of Strpce/Shterpce and the SRS candidate for deputy in the Serbian Parliament Zvonko Mihajlovic says that his apprehension by the special units of the Kosovo police was politically motivated.
Mihajlovic was apprehended on suspicion of possession of weapons.
"They have done their job, they have searched and, of course, they did not find what they were looking for because they cannot find something that does not exist. Then they brought me to the Urosevac police station in handcuffs, where I made a statement," he explained.
Mihajlovic said that the procedure lasted a few hours and that the behaviour of members of the Kosovo police was relatively fair, apart from a few minor provocations referring to his party affiliation and the leadership of the party to which he belongs.
"The case was handed over to the Prosecutor's Office, and I expect an invitation for twenty days and appearance before the court. I do not know what the content of the indictment will be; behind this were political motives. I do not want to speculate on who was behind this, but I hope I will find out," says Mihajlovic.
