Jevtić: The Sunny Valley is not colonization (KIM radio)
- The Sunny Valley cannot be and is not colonization, but the result of the fact that the return of displaced persons from Kosovo and Metohija cannot be implemented in those areas where they want to return, such as Đakovica, for example - said the Kosovo Minister for Return and Communities, Dalibor Jevtić.
Jevtić told RTS that in the first five months of this year only 101 displaced persons have returned to Kosovo which gives the best possible reflection of the situation on the ground.
The Sunny Valley, according to Jevtić, is the first project that gives positive answers to the displaced.
"I'm sorry that politicians and society in general welcomed this project on the way which could be seen these days. The return of displaced is not and cannot be colonization. This project is a product of the fact that we cannot realize the return in most environments where displaced want to return, such as Đakovica and other parts of Kosovo," said Jevtic, and added that this was a reason why there was a need for the project, to enable the return to environments, which are primarily safe.
About the position of Kosovo officials concerning the project, Jevtić said that they were interested in the respect of the law and that all necessary permits were issued.
