Return of displaced unsatisfactory (KIM radio)
Return to Kosovo is unsatisfactory and better conditions must be provided for the return and survival, it was said at the meeting of UN Special Rapporteur on the Human Rights of Internally Displaced Persons Chaloka Beyani and the Minister for Communities and Return Dalibor Jevtić.
As announced by the Ministry of Communities and Returns, Jevtić said to Beyani that more needs to be done in the field of security, economy and in creating better environment. Jevtić stated that there has to be more effort in solving a large number of pending cases, when it comes to property rights.
Jevtić informed Beyani about the difficulties that the Ministry of Communities and Returns is facing.
UN Special Rapporteur Chaloka Beyani said that he fully agreed with the statement of the Minister Jevtić that and other institutions must be involved in the return process, and that the whole society in Kosovo must be doing more to make this process move upward.
He added that if the Ministry of Education does not provide education, children will not be able to return, and therefore the family.
The meeting which was held yesterday in Pristina between Minister Jevtić and UN Special Rapporteur Beyani was also attended by the head of the UNHCR in Kosovo P. V. Narasimha Rao.
