Analyst: Temple of Christ the Saviour could be restored if Teodosije and Stojanović would seek the restoration of the Ibar mosque (Kossev, Slobodno Srpski)
Political analyst Nexhmedin Spahiu says that the question of the Temple of the Christ the Saviour in Pristina could been resolved if the Bishop of the Diocese of Raška and Prizren Teodosije and Deputy Prime Minister, Branimir Stojanović would seek the restoration of the mosque in North Mitrovica, which is located next to the main bridge.
Spahiu was a guest in the talk show "Slobodno Srpski," and said that the relations between municipalities, North Mitrovica and South Mitrovica are much better than few years ago. However, states that cooperation should be "much better".
"I think it could be a lot better. I believe that if, say, Oliver Ivanović was mayor, there would be more ideas for cooperation and the like."
He says that Oliver Ivanovic was the most prominent Serbian politician in establishing connections between Serbs and Albanians after the war.
When he spoke on eliminating the so-called Peace Park, his opinion is that it poses no security risk.
"If someone wants to make a problem, he will do it, and with the bridge and without a bridge. That bridge is now just a better opportunity to cross over the Ibar and nothing else," he said.
Spahiu also commented on the statement of Albin Kurti that due to the demarcation there could be a war with Montenegro:
-The war is possible, not with Montenegro, than with each other in Kosovo; where maybe collateral damage would be the Serbs as in March 2004. With Montenegro, there is no reason to be a war. Both Kosovo and Montenegro agree that the border should be according to the Constitution of 1974, however, the question is where the border is: on Čakor or Kućište. The arguments presented by the opposition, for me are more serious than those presented by the Government of Kosovo. The situation is potentially dangerous and tense, because since the formation of this new government, there are two burning issues – the Agreement on the demarcation of the border with Montenegro and the Community of municipalities with Serb majority. Also, negotiations with Belgrade, which are crucial for the future of Kosovo, have fallen into a dead end and I think that this government will not be able to resolve any of this.
