Patriarch of Alexandria and Africa Teodor II visits Kosovo (RTK2)
Patriarch of Alexandria and Africa, Teodor II, accompanied by the Serbian Orthodox Church Patriarch Irinej visited yesterday the Pec Patriarchate and after that Visoki Decani Monastery, RTK2 reported.
Patriarch Teodor II said he is very happy to visit the monasteries in Kosovo, which he considers as Serbian Jerusalem.
“I am glad for being here, and I said to the Patriarch Irinej this is the holy place, and the Pec Patriarchate is something that gives spiritual strength. That is why such places are Serbian Jerusalem for me,” Patriarch Teodor II said.
Bishop of Raska-Prizren Eparchy, Teodosije said this is a ceremonial moment for the Serbian Orthodox Church in Kosovo, as such visits pour the faith in survival.
“It is with great honour to have an opportunity to share with you all our joy, but also sufferings of living in this area. All these places are holy shrines for us, and they, after such a visit give us a hope that we will remain in these areas,” Bishop Teodosije stated.
The Patriarch of Alexandria and Africa, Teodor II will be the guest of the Serbian Orthodox Church till 29 September.
