UNS and DNKIM condemn police violence against journalists (KIM Radio)

Association of Journalists of Serbia (UNS) and Association of Journalists of Kosovo and Metohija (DNKiM) condemned violence of the Kosovo special police members against journalists who were reporting on events in Mitrovica North, KIM Radio reported.

ROSU members attacked 15 Serbian media journalists who were following events in the north of Kosovo, despite journalists clearly identifying themselves by showing press IDs and shouting in Albanian they are journalists. Female journalists Rada Komazec from “Jedinstvo” and Dragana Zecevic from “Vecernje Novosti” told UNS that police members pointed rifles at them and pushed them so they fell to the ground. As a Serbian national broadcaster, RTS announced during the arrest of the Serbian Government Office for Kosovo and Metohija Director, Marko Djuric, Kosovo special police members attacked and injured RTS cameraman Vladimir Milic. UNS and DNKiM request from the responsible bodies to enable all journalists to carry out their duties without obstruction and violence, and to punish those responsible for this incident, KIM Radio reported. Meanwhile, KIM Radio also reported that cameras and a vehicle of RTV Puls were also damaged in action of the Kosovo police special unit ROSU in Mitrovica North yesterday.
