Drecun: Database on KLA crimes established (Tanjug, RTS)
Serbian Assembly Committee for Kosovo and Metohija Chairperson Milovan Drecun met with UN Assistant Secretary General for Political Affairs, Miroslav Jenca and informed him that a unique database on all KLA committed crimes was established, and that this base is not selective regarding the victims’ ethnic background, Serbian media reported.
Drecun added the only valid international document for Serbia, when it comes to Kosovo, is UN SC Resolution 1244, assessing that current UN reports on the situation in Kosovo are more realistic than the ones before.
He underlined Serbia’s commitment to resolve the Kosovo issue in a peaceful manner, but that Serbia would not allow violence against the Serb population there or establishment of the Kosovo armed formation that could be used against the Serbs.
US Assistant Secretary General, Miroslav Jenca welcomed good cooperation between the Assembly Committee and the UN office in Belgrade and thanked Serbia for its contribution to the work of the UN.
He underlined the commitment of UN SG Antonio Guterres to work on preventive diplomacy during his mandate and that the focus was on the Western Balkans, where additional efforts are needed in order to achieve peace and stability.
Jenca was also interested to hear about the results of the internal dialogue on Kosovo in Serbia, and welcomed the stance of Serbia that sustainable solution can be reached only through dialogue, Serbian media reported.
